Mirogard is discontinued. Here is what replaces it.
Schott AG has ended production of its MIROGARD® anti-reflective picture framing glass, and European stock has sold through. The good news: for every Mirogard tier there is a direct Artglass successor with the same near-invisible optics and equal or better UV protection — made in the EU and available from stock.

Moving from Mirogard to Artglass
Is Mirogard really discontinued?
Yes — Schott AG has ended production of its MIROGARD® picture-framing glass range (MIROGARD®, MIROGARD® Plus and MIROGARD® Protect), and remaining trade stock across Europe has largely sold out. European framing suppliers now point Mirogard users to Artglass as the successor product line.
Is Artglass equivalent in quality?
Artglass anti-reflective products deliver reflection of about 1% — the same class of optical performance framers valued in Mirogard — and each replacement tier offers equal or higher UV protection. Artglass coatings are applied by vertical magnetron sputtering on low-iron glass and are certified to the same European measurement standard (EN 410).
Do the sheet sizes and handling change?
Artglass glass products come in sheets up to 2250 × 3302 mm plus a full set of standard framing cut sizes. AR 70 and AR 92 cut exactly like regular glass from either side, so no workflow changes are needed. Handling guidelines for every product are free on our downloads page.
