Cut list optimiser

Enter the pieces you need. This works out the best way to cut them from full sheets, how many sheets that takes, and what the offcuts will still make. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is sent to us, and there is nothing to sign up for.

The pieces you need

Enter the finished glass size for each frame. Add a name if it helps you tell them apart on the printout.

Or paste a list

One piece per line. 500x700, 500 × 700 ×3, or straight out of a spreadsheet. A comma is read as a decimal point when the line has another separator on it, so 50,5 x 70 works.

Cutting options

Groglass sheets arrive with clean factory edges, so this is normally 0.

Scoring glass removes no material, so this is 0. Set it if you are sawing acrylic.

Artglass coatings work the same way round, so turning a piece costs nothing. Turn this off only if your artwork dictates the direction.

Burns down the offcut shelf before opening a full sheet.

The plan

Add the pieces you need and the plan appears here.

How it works

Glass is scored and snapped, so every cut has to run the full length of the piece it divides — you cannot cut an L-shape out of the middle of a sheet. This tool only produces layouts you can actually cut that way, and it gives you the cuts in the order to make them.

Questions

Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no email, no limit. It runs entirely in your browser — your sizes never reach our server. We built it because framers who can see what a box of glass actually makes are more comfortable buying one.
Can I use it for glass I did not buy from you?
Of course. Enter any sheet sizes you like under "I already have sheets". The standard sizes are there as a shortcut, not a requirement.
Does it handle acrylic?
Yes — enter your sheet sizes and set a cutting waste figure for your blade. Artglass Lifetime Acrylic comes in eleven sheet sizes; the order page lists them all.
Why does it turn my pieces round?
Artglass coatings are the same on both axes, so a turned piece is identical glass and usually saves material. If the direction matters for your artwork, switch rotation off in the cutting options.
How accurate is the leftover figure?
Deliberately cautious. It only counts rectangles you could actually cut out of what remains, at the sizes you are already framing. In practice you will normally get at least that many.
Can I get the glass cut to size instead?
Yes, in Latvia and the Baltics, on 2 mm products, from 100 × 100 mm up to 1180 × 1580 mm, cut to ±1 mm. It is the sensible route for one-offs and for trying a product before committing to a box.
